CIRCE

Got misinformation?

There's a science for that.

What CIRCE does

Boosting mental immunity. Disrupting cognitive contagion.

The mind, it turns out, has an immune system. When working well, it protects us from false and harmful information. But it can misfire. Although violent ideologies and conspiracy thinking are clear examples of mental immune dysfunction, everyday uncritical thinking is part of the same problem.

A collaborative group of researchers and thought leaders, CIRCE studies the mind's immune system and converts its findings into tools useful for building mental resilience.

In May 2022, CIRCE launched the Mental Immunity Project, an ambitious effort to boost humanity's immunity to the worst forms of cognitive contagion. You can learn more here.

As you continue to explore this website and its resources, we hope that you'll find exciting ways to apply CI in your own life.
